Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav, a 75 day long event was celebrated in Surendranath centenary School to make the students experience and enjoy the linguistic diversity of India. The eleven week (28th September- 11th December) long celebration in which students of classes I to XII participated comprised of activities like slogan writing, poster making, short film show, labelling the rooms and labs of the school in different languages, poem recitation and skit. It was overwhelming to see the participation of parents in the form of story telling and cuisine display. A signature campaign was also organised where student/ teachers wrote their names in their regional language. The celebration concluded with a special assembly dedicated to the great Tamil poet Shri Subramania Bharati . Madam Principal Samita Sinha on this occasion praised the different clubs of the school, teachers and students for their active participation in the celebration of Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav and wished that such initiatives would encourage children to learn more and more languages and experience unity in diversity.
