The Maths Club of Surendranath Centenary School celebrated National Mathematics Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of the renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. As part of Ganit Week celebrations held from December 15 to 22, students from Classes I to XI enthusiastically participated in a range of activities that highlighted the fun, creativity, and relevance of mathematics. Students from Classes I–V participated in fun games and art activities, innovatively highlighting concepts of numbers and symmetry. TLMs were made and displayed, showcasing their creativity. Class VI students designed and displayed 3D geometrical shapes, while Class VII students explored symmetry through real-life examples. Class VIII students engaged in games based on comparing quantities and playing with numbers. Students of Classes IX and XI demonstrated their analytical and problem-solving skills by solving brain teasers such as puzzles, riddles, and Sudoku. Emphasising the importance of mathematics, Madam Principal Samita Sinha said, "Mathematics is not just a subject; it is a way of thinking and problem-solving. We are proud to see our students embracing mathematics with such creativity and enthusiasm." The concluding day of the celebrations featured a short speech, role play, direction dance, and a tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan, honouring his extraordinary contributions to the field of Mathematics.
