Surendranath Centenary School observed World Book Day on 23rd April 2026 with activities to promote reading and sharing. Under the Rahat Project of the Community Outreach Club, students of Classes I to XII organized a Book Donation Drive on the theme We Care, We Share. Approximately 2000 books, comics, novels, and school-use stationery were collected and donated to the NGO TEAM HELP RANCHI. The Literary Club engaged Class III students in making bookmarks for personal use and gifting, while Class IV students designed cover pages of their favourite storybooks to display their imagination and artistic skills. Students of Classes VIII and X participated in activities including Gift a Book to a Friend, book reviews, a quiz, PPT presentations on the significance of the day, and sharing their favourite books. Madam Principal Samita Sinha said, World Book Day helps students discover the joy of reading and understand how sharing books can spread knowledge and kindness.
