The Health Club of Surendranath Centenary School observed Poshan Maah from 1st to 8th October 2026 to promote awareness about balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits among students. A range of awareness and interactive activities was conducted across the school. In the Junior Wing (P. Nur to V), students participated in a nutrition pledge, healthy recipe sharing, nutritious lunch initiatives, a Poshan Mela showcasing local, nutritious and protein-rich foods and milk products, along with fun games, poster making, slogan writing and a Nukkad Natak highlighting the importance of nutritious hot meals. In the Senior Wing (Classes VI to XII), a Poshan Awareness Assembly featuring a pledge and speech on nutrition was organised. Class VI students took part in a ‘My Balanced Plate’ poster-making activity, Classes VII and VIII conducted a Healthy Tiffin Audit, Classes IX and X explored local food items and their nutritional value, while Classes XI and XII presented information on deficiency diseases, their symptoms and prevention. Speaking on the occasion, Madam Principal Ms. Samita Sinha appreciated the efforts of the Health Club and emphasised that good nutrition is the foundation of good health and academic excellence. She added that such activities encourage students to develop healthy lifestyle habits from an early age.
